Our Story
NCCDO is dedicated to sustainable development in the Nuba Mountains, focused on education, psychosocial well-being, and economic empowerment for women and children affected by conflict and displacement.
Our Mission
Our Vision
To envision new communities of resilience for our society and the world.
Born from shared experiences of displacement and driven by hope for transformation
Founded by Those Who Understand
NCCDO was founded in 2020 by a collective of Nuba youth who had endured displacement, war, and the lack of access to basic human rights like education. Raised in conflict zones and forced into refugee life in Kenya, Egypt, and South Sudan, the founders received education through UNHCR programs.
Their shared experience fostered a deep understanding of the urgent and long-term needs in the Nuba Mountains. On returning to their homeland, they witnessed the entrenched cycles of poverty, displacement, and marginalization—especially affecting women and children.
The organization was born from a shared commitment to address these challenges through sustainable, grassroots solutions that prioritize education, mental health, dignity, and development.
